Assemblywoman Nikki Lucas is a longtime community advocate who has spent more than four years representing Brooklyn’s 60th Assembly District in the New York State Assembly. Since taking office in 2022, she has brought decades of community involvement to Albany, advocating for working families, seniors, homeowners, renters, small businesses and residents whose voices are too often overlooked.

For Nikki, public service began long before she was elected. She was introduced to civic involvement at an early age by parents who were actively engaged in their community. That foundation grew into years of advocacy and involvement with community organizations and government leaders at the city, state and federal levels.

Nikki earned her degree in Liberal Arts from the Borough of Manhattan Community College and continued her education at Syracuse University, where she studied Policy Studies and Conflict Resolution. A longtime resident of Starrett City and advocate for East New York, Nikki has deep roots in the communities she represents and has spent decades working to improve opportunities for residents throughout East Brooklyn.
